Breast Screening at Wythenshawe Hospital - Eligible patients have recently been invited to attend routine breast screening. 808 patients attended from a total of 1074 invited (75%), 26 patients were reviewed in clinic and 3 cancers were detected. If you missed your invite please contact our Cancer Champions (Jo and Rebecca) at the surgery who will help you arrange a screening appointment.  If you have any worries or concerns regarding breast screening then please make an appointment with a GP to discuss.

On 12 April 2016 the surgery was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and our overall rating was 'Good' with a rating of 'Outstanding' for people experiencing poor mental health. Please see CQC information page for full detailed report

Last month (January 2019) there were 86 patients who missed their appointment with the GP or Nurse

This is 14.3 hours of un used clinical time

This may increase your waiting time to see a clinician

If you know that you will be unable to attend your appointment please can you call the surgery so it can be used by someone else

We have a text messaging service which confirms and reminds patients of their appointments, please check with reception if you wish to use this service.

Our practice nurses can be consulted directly by appointment for the following:

  • Cervical smears
  • Family planning
  • Travel advice and Immunisations
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Well person checks - including blood pressure, diet & alcohol advice and smoking cessation.
  • Blood tests Child_belly
  • Asthma advice
  • General health advice

Hospital Referrals

In some situations it is necessary for the GP to refer a patient on for specialist care at a hospital. Please use the attached link to find out about this process

If a patient chooses to be referred to a private clinic or hospital then usually a letter will be required from the GP. In this instance please allow at least 5 working days before making your appointment with the private clinician to allow time for the surgery to prepare the referral letter. All private referral letters need to be collected by the patient from the surgery
